The Mukwano group of industries with its deep-rooted origins had a humble beginning with a single laundry soap production line installed in 1986. Today, close to just two decades later, it is a conglomerate of varied business interests ranging from manufacturing to transport and logistics to property development within Uganda and spanning across the Great Lakes region. MUKWANO INDUSTRIES
Manufacturer of renowned super foaming laundry bar soaps such as: Chapa nyota, chapa simba, chapa Mukwano. The company has been in the service of the east and sub Saharan African household for the last 2 decades, producing not only lasting, high quality soaps, but also a lasting friendship with its customers through excellent customer services and stringent quality standards. Mukwano Industries is the holding company of other companies in the Mukwano group.

A.K. Oils and Fats Limited
Manufacturer of Mukwano vegetable cooking oil, Tamu vegetable cooking oil, New Tamu vegetable cooking fat, Tamu bakers fat, Nice fry deep frying fat and Marina catering Margarine. A.K. Oils & Fats is one of the leading producers of edible oils and fats in Uganda and the East African region.
The company is engaged in the manufacture of premium refined sunflower, cottonseed oil and sesame seed oil for the local and regional market. The company’s state of the art vegetable oil complex is one of the largest in the region.

Mukwano Personal Care Products Limited
Manufacturers of Blue Nomi detergent powder, Hira blue detergent powder, Supa liquid detergent, Dazzelene floor cleaner, Klix scouring powder and Blik liquid bleach. Mukwano Personal Care Products Limited is a modern and fully automated detergent plant manufacturing a full range of quality detergent and hygiene products in both liquid and powder form.

A.K. Plastics (U) Limited
Manufacturers of a range of commercial and house hold plastic ware such as crates, plates, basins, mugs, buckets, food containers plastic jerry and PET containers. A.K. Plastics (U) Limited caters virtually to the total in house packing requirements as well as supplies to other industrial and house hold users.

Mukwano sweets & Confectionaries
Manufacturers of hard-boiled candy and lollipops in exciting assorted fruit flavors. Also in the pipeline is the manufacture of chocolate based and center filled confectionery.

A.K. Transporters Limited
A vital arm of the group, this division provides transport and logistics support to members companies, and also specializes in road, rail and marine transport of conventional, containerized and liquid cargo. Provides warehousing and freight forwarding solutions in the East African region.
